Yes, I am absolutely serious. This product does actually exist. Chia Obama's are filling store shelves and can also be bought online. Still don't believe me? Take a look for yourself at www.chiaobama.com. I'm not sure who came up with this piece of marketing 'genius', but I mean seriously, come on.
Sure, everyone that lives in the public eye hopes to be immortalized somehow, but I'm not sure that I would chose to have be in 'chia' form. Of course we all remember the cuddly little animals that you spread some seed on them, water and watch them grow. It's a cute idea. But, would you honestly want a pottery-version of your head sitting on someone's kitchen window sill? I know I wouldn't.
On the other hand, who would actually buy this thing? Don't get me wrong, I'm all about Canadian pride, but that doesn't mean I would put a Chia Harper in my home. Talk about a conversation piece. Well, if you still plan to buy someone a Chia Obama for Christmas, then all I can say is, I hope I'm not on your Christmas list!
