Late-February was the fourth absurd anniversary of the Caledonia/"whose land is it, anyway?" commotion that continues to damage Caledonia-perception and generate unfairly lousy pr.
Inevitably, the messy reputation is spilling over to other hometown areas like Cayuga, Hagersville, Jarvis and Dunnville. When it comes to public-perception, the brush always paints broad.
Caledonia is a terrific community! Period. Full stop! Great people, going to work, going to school, gung-ho community groups, lots going on and unlimited potential.
The fourth absurd anniversary of the media-overblown commotion is a milestone, all of a sudden, because this is a municipal election year. Local incumbents and wannabes are suddenly getting nervous that the past four years of all-talk-and-no-action may end up bititing them in the ballot, this November.
And no getting around it: it IS the politicians' fault!!!! Provincial and federal politicians are the only ones who can answer: "whose land IS it?"
But it's the ready-to-beg-for-local-votes politicians who (asap) have to answer why they have wimped out and been so lame for the past four years about forcing the feds and Queen's Park for an answer.
...for the community's sake!!!
