Brantford Hockeyfest has officially been postponed.  The Grand River Conservation Authority terminated its contract with Hockeyfest for the use of the Brant Conservation Area over public safety concerns.  There were rumors of Ohsweken Speedway becoming the new venue for this weekend’s event, but they pulled out early this morning.  Hockeyfest Promoter Ralph Spoltore is taking none of the blame, saying their knees were cut out from underneath them.  Spoltore made the announcement at a press conference in Brantford this morning.  He says tickets will be honoured at the re-scheduled event, which has no date or venue at this time.  There’s no concrete word on whether refunds are available.
