An industrial fire in Hamilton has caused about $20,000 in damages. Firefighters say the blaze broke out at Thompson Waste Transfer on Friday night. Due to the large amount of smoke pouring out of the building, police went door-to-door around the neighbourhood, warning people to keep their windows and doors shut and to stay inside. The Ministry of the Environment conducted multiple air tests and found the smoke was not hazardous. There is no word on what caused the fire.
