A woman is dead after a fire at a townhouse in Stoney Creek. Hamilton firefighters were called to the blaze on Gateshead Crescent early yesterday morning. Firefighters found the woman in a second-floor bedroom with severe burns. She was pronounced dead at hospital. The victim's name has not yet been released. The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office is investigating and damage is estimated at 50-thousand dollars.
