Possible Evidence Found in Bosma Investigation

Hamilton police have made a significant discovery in the case of Tim Bosma. The 32-year-old father was killed after taking two strangers for a test drive of a truck he was selling. How officers have discovered an incinerator on the property of 27-year-old Dellen Millard, a Toronto man who has been charged with first degree murder in the case. Bosma’s remains were found burnt earlier this week, but police haven’t confirmed if the incinerator was used to do so. Police will continue to search the property. They are still looking for two other suspects.
Seatbelt Saves Man's Life

A man has been killed following a crash in West Lincoln. On Wednesday evening the 40-year-old was driving his pickup truck on East Chippawa Road when he lost control and drove into a ditch. The truck rolled over, killing the driver at the scene. The passenger, a 50-year-old man, was wearing a seatbelt and was unhurt in the crash. Police are thanking nearby residents and passing drivers for coming to the aid of the victims before emergency crews arrived.

Hamilton police are searching for a number of teenagers after a young boy was mugged. According to reports, the 12-year-old was walking near King Street East last night when five boys around the age of fifteen approached him. They’re said to have attacked him, stealing his cell phone and money before running away. The victim made it home and told his parents and the police were called. The Detective’s Office is currently looking into the issue.
Booze Still Available for Long Weekend

Ontario’s liquor stores will stay open today. There was fear that union workers would strike starting at midnight, but they have reached a tentative agreement with the LCBO. Many Ontario residents have been panic buying as it wasn’t clear if they would be able to get liquor over the Victoria Day weekend. The deal was agreed on just hours before last night’s strike deadline.

A Brantford woman has organized a vigil in honour of a local man. 32-year-old father Tim Bosma of Ancaster was found dead earlier this week. Now, Leanne L’Heureux is inviting residents to attend tonight’s vigil to light a candle in Bosma’s memory and show respect for his family. A donation pool has been set up for people looking to help his loved ones, and contributions can be made at any TD bank. The ceremony is expected to bring hundreds of people, and will take place tonight at 7 O’clock in Brantford’s Harmony Square.

Wheelchair User Completes Grueling Journey

A Canadian icon has finished a near impossible challenge. Double amputee Spencer West spent the last 11 days going 300 kilometres from Edmonton to Calgary, partly on his hands and partly by wheelchair. The point of the journey was to raise money for Free the Children, an organization trying to provide thousands of people in developing countries with clean drinking water. West added that he wants Canadians to understand how far people in those nations have to walk just so they can drink.
Hunt on For Hamilton Suspect

Hamilton police are searching for a man following a pharmacy robbery. On Tuesday evening of last week a suspect entered the store near Queenston Road, pulling a balaclava over his head to hide his face. He demanded the clerk hand over such drugs as Fentanyl, Oxycotin and Hydromorph. The employee cooperated before the suspect fled the scene. Following an investigation police are now searching for 31-year-old Jameson Wyatt Cooper of Hamilton.
International Musician Gets Local Recognition

A Norfolk County musician is set to be recognized by his community. Rick Danko died fourteen years ago and was a founding member of The Band. Now, officials will be putting up a sign in his honour in Blaney, west of Simcoe. Danko and The Band were inducted into Canada’s Music Hall of Fame in 1989 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in 1994.
Charges Laid in Late Night Break-in

A Norfolk County man has been charged with break and entering. Last week a suspect forced their way into the Delhi Polish Hall. Police were called to the scene around 4AM but the suspect had escaped by that time. Investigations lead detectives to arrest 23-year-old Robert Lewis Triska. He will appear in Provincial Court in Simcoe to answer to his charges.
