birch murder Aleisha Block Timmins Police_Service_logo_upd

Timmins Police have released more details on the fatal stabbing at a Birch Street South residence. Inspector Mike McGinn says officers and paramedics responded after a 911 call was placed from the residence by the alleged suspect, 24-year-old Aleisha Block. The victim, 27-year-old Christopher Deighton was found suffering from a single stab wound to the chest. Police have recovered the weapon, detained Block and charged her with second degree murder.

McGinn revealed the two recently moved into the house at 315 Birch Street South. No one else was at the house at the time. Police had no trouble taking her into custody and McGinn would not say if Block has admitted to the crime or not. Police won’t comment on whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The investigation is being wrapped up and Block is going to appear before court soon.
