A 16 year fun festival is back for 2012. After a year’s hiatus the South Porcupine Summerfest is set for July 20^th to 22^nd. Organizer and director of children’s activities Joanne Hagger-Perritt says the focus has always been on family fun.

Many events and activities are planned throughout the weekend, with an emphasis on kid-friendly items and to access this, you simply need a passport.

Summerfest is set to kick off on the Friday from 6:00pm with a small opening ceremony, then into the Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue geocaching hunt. All events are going to take place on Legion Drive, at the old museum site and 78 Legion Drive, the South Porcupine Guiding Scouting Hall.
