A 16-year-old Timmins student has been honoured at the 15th Annual Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards. In a ceremony held at the Days Inn and Conference Centre earlier today Carly Verville of Thériault High School received the Aspiring Achiever Scholarship. Carly has been devoted to the community, teaching dance, volunteering at her church and Alzheimer’s Society, youth ambassador to the Timmins Police Service and has completed a co-op placement in the special education section at Thériault. Patricia Mills, publisher at Northern Ontario Business says the event has grown significantly and continues to inspire and recognize many more entrepreneurial female spirits.

Christine Fortin – Executive of the Year (North Bay)
Irene Smit – Entrepreneur of the Year (Callander)
Vicky Wydra – Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Sudbury)
Carly Verville – Aspiring Achiever Scholarship (Timmins)
