Two Catholic schools in Kirkland Lake are set for pupil accommodation reviews for the 2011-2012 school year. The St. Jerome and Sacred Heart Catholic Schools are under review and public consultations are to be held to discuss how Catholic education is taught in the community and enhancing the educational experience for current and future students. The meeting will be at the St. Jerome School gymnasium on Tuesday, April 17th.
At its regular monthly board meeting held on May 18th, 2011, the trustees of the Northeastern Catholic District School Board passed the following motion: Be it resolved that the Northeastern Catholic District School Board place the following schools under Pupil Accommodation Review for the 2011-2012 school year: St. Jerome School and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Kirkland Lake.
At the first public meeting, the ARC will describe its mandate and outline the Pupil Accommodation Review process under Board policy which follows the Ministry of Education guidelines. It will also review the school specific information package and give the public a briefing on the data and issues to be addressed. The ARC will describe how the Generic School Valuation Framework has been customized. This meeting will be structured to encourage an open exchange of information from all parties and will receive community input.
