A Real Heart Racing Event

Hits

Have you enjoyed any Canadian medal performances yet?  If not you could always hit up the internet to see replays of our Canadians achieve their dreams but I warn you, your heart might start to race, especially if you watch both our Canadians win medals in the snowboard cross.

Snowboard cross requires you to qualify as a single runner down a course of curves, humps and jumps.  If you qualify, you're moved into a series of quarterfinals where you race 3 other racers down the same track.  Only 2 out of 4 continue into the semi-finals.  Then you do the same in the semis and finally in the finals for the medals.  Mike Robertson pulled out a silver medal performance 2 days ago while holding the lead through most of the race and being passed in the final section.  And then yesterday MaĆ«le Ricker picked up a gold medal with a great run in Cypress down the same track that one Mike Robertson his silver.  But, there's a bigger story if you watched her qualification.  She fell in her first qualifying run and had to come up big in her second run.  She did just that finishing with the third best qualifying time overall.

Tonight, she'll be presented with her gold medal.  And, once again the Canadian National Anthem will thunder through BC Place.  It's something we never get tired of hearing!
