Sundridge Man Charged In OPP Murder Dies

Hits

The Sundridge man charged with first degree murder and attempted murder in the death of an OPP officer and shootout with another officer this week has died. 70 year old Fred Preston, a former reeve of Joly township, died Thursday night after being taken off life support in a London hospital. Preston, who had been in critical condition in hospital, was charged in the death of OPP Constable Vu Pham.  The married father of three sons was shot after pulling over a pick up truck in Winthrop, northwest of London, last week. Pham was raised in Sundridge, but relatives of Preston say the two men likely did not know each other.
