Moose FM CFSF 99.3 - Sturgeon Falls

A cheque scam has appeared in Northern Ontario and seems to have made North Bay it’s first stop.  Someone is advertising on Kijiji that he needs a driver for his wife who is moving to the area from the United Kingdom.  The man sends the driver a cheque for $1,950 and tells him to keep $600 for himself and send the rest back to him.  However cashing the cheque will cost you hundreds because when the bank figures out it’s a fake, it will come after you for its money.  North Bay police say about 30 such cheques have been delivered in the city and their advice is don’t cash them.
