Human Remains Found North of Elliot Lake May Belong to 1970s Drown Victim

E-mail Print PDF

Police believe the body they recovered Tuesday from a lake north of Elliot Lake was a drowning victim during the 1970s.  Forensic tests are being carried out to identify the remains.  The search for a body began after someone found a human foot last Friday in Mississauga Provincial Park.  Police say the body has been in the water for a very long time and they do not suspect foul play.  The body was found in the park’s Semiwite Lake.
