First Nations May Delay Ring of Fire

E-mail Print PDF

The Ring of Fire chromite project in James Bay could be in big trouble.  Six First Nations in that region want a moratorium on all work because they haven’t been consulted or given their consent for the mines.  The First Nations add they haven’t been accommodated but don’t say if this means they want monetary compensation before approving the project.  They’re preparing an eviction notice which will give the mining camps 30 days to leave the Ring of Fire.
