The federal and provincial NDP are weighing in on the Ring of Fire meeting between the Prime Minister and Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne. Nickel Belt MP and mines critic Claude Gravelle suggested how the feds could move the chromite project forward. But instead of discussing his motion, the Tories forced all talk on this behind closed doors ahead of Wynne’s meeting with Stephen Harper. Gravelle sees this as a political game instead of creating jobs. On the provincial side Gilles Bisson, MPP for Timmins-James Bay, says the premier should have sat down with Cliffs well before it suspended its project. Bisson says Wynne’s meeting with the Prime Minister is nothing more than damage control after the fact.
