Michael Gravelle, the minister of northern development, says transforming the ONTC is a delicate balancing act. He says it has to balance the needs of workers against the need to provide an affordable and sustainable public service. Gravelle met Monday with the group trying to save the ONTC and he believes there’s a consensus that the status quo is not an option. The minister is considering several options including alternative delivery services and partnerships. Gravelle says it’s a tough job because the different components at Ontario Northland require different solutions.
